Exergen Global and Novus partner to deliver industry's most accurate, affordable plug-and-play IR temperature sensor family
Easy-to-Use Game Changer Infrared Sensors Provide Accuracy of 1% and Repeatability of 0,01°C (0.02°F) with Temperatures Ranging from 0 to 200°C (32 to 392°F)
WATERTOWN, Mass. and ZIJTAART the Netherlands, January 3, 2018 - Exergen Global, an award-winning thermal solutions provider, today announced that it is partnering with Novus Automation Inc. to create The Game Changers, a family of exceptionally accurate, small-sized, simple-to-use temperature sensors for a wide range of applications. The new solutions integrate Novus’ N1030IR Temperature Controller with Exergen’s IRt/c and micro IRt/c sensors to provide a versatile family of plug-and-play thermocouples.
While competitive sensors claim accuracy rates of 1% and repeatability of 0,01°C (0.02°F), those specifications hold true only in ambient temperatures between 64 and 82°C (147.2 and 179.6°F)– a very limited range given that many processes such as food preparation take place in settings with extremely high or low ambient temperatures. The Game Changer sensors guarantee accuracy of 1% and repeatability of 0,01°C (0.02°F) for the industry’s broadest temperature range -- from 0 to 200°C (0 to 392°F)-- making them ideally suited to a broad range of applications, including graphics/printing/laminating, textiles, medical, aesthetical, food, plastics and others.
“At Exergen Global we understand that accurate and reliable temperature measurement is essential for processes in all ambient temperatures settings – from extreme cold to severe heat –not simply in a limited temperature range,” said Bart van Liempd, CEO Exergen Global. “We worked with Novus to develop the Game Changers to ensure that customers in all industries would have access to affordable, easy-to-use, highly accurate and reliable temperature sensors.”
The Game Changer family is comprised of four different types of IRt/c and micro IRt/c sensors: the versatile K, which provides the widest operating temperature range: from 0 - 200°C (0 - 392°F). As with all Exergen sensors, the Game Changers are unpowered, have no drift, offer interchangeability of < 1%, response times between 50 and 150 milliseconds and have MTBF rates of 1000 years.
Game Changer Pricing and Availability
The Game Changer, including Exergen’s microIRt/c with Air-purge and mounting bracket and Novus’ N1030IR controller, is available November 1 for an end-user price of €199,00.
About the N1030IR Controller
The N1030IR PID temperature controller is a 1/16th DIN temperature controller that features a high performance PID algorithm in a compact housing, with only 35 mm depth. Its compact construction and the convenient detachable connector provide an easy set up on short profile panels, optimizing the space and reducing costs. It has two outputs always available which can be configured both as a control or an alarm.
